Jake’s legal acumen earned statewide recognition in September 2024 when he received a prestigious “Star Award” from the Council of Accountability Court Judges for his outstanding contributions to the Hall County Drug Court.

In 2025, Jake supplemented his trial-level experience by successfully arguing and briefing an appeal to the Georgia Supreme Court, resulting in the reversal of his client’s murder conviction. Before leaving the Hall County Public Defender’s Office recently, Jake successfully tried a murder case to trial and verdict, resulting in a complete acquittal for his client, facing life in prison, where his client was able to walk out the same door he walked in as a free man.
